Last week, my friend Doug sent me an email saying his 92 year old father was in hospice and not expected to live much longer.  I worked with Doug several years ago at an advertising agency in San Francisco and we’ve continued to stay in touch. If you are planning a memorial service, it’s probably a safe assumption that you’ll be planning an estate sale next. People always ask what they can do to help when someone passes away, while there is a lot to do when planning a funeral, there can be even more work after the service cleaning out their loved one’s residence. In lieu of flowers, perhaps the best gift you could offer would be to assist your friend or family member with an estate sale?

Most of us will die leaving some stuff behind. Some people have closets, attics, trunks, garages and even storage units full of stuff. The question becomes, what do we do with a lifetime of Mom or Dad’s stuff or both their stuff after they’ve passed?
