Stephen Furst as “Flounder” in Animal House
If you’ve ever seen Animal House, you will surely remember Stephen Furst who played “Flounder”. Stephen passed away on June 17, 2017 from complications from diabetes at only 63 years old.
I was touched by what his sons Nathan and Griffith posted on Facebook about their father.
“Steve has a long list of earthly accomplishments, he was known to the world as [a] brilliant and prolific actor and filmmaker, but to his family and many dear friends, he was also a beloved husband, father and kind friend whose memory will always be a blessing. To truly honor him, do not cry for the loss of Stephen Furst. But rather, enjoy memories of all the times he made you snicker, laugh, or even snort to your own embarrassment. Hunter Biden remembers his brother, Beau Biden, in a heartfelt eulogy.
It’s hard to know someone without actually meeting him. However, a good story about an individual enables the listener to have insight into that person. After listening to Hunter Biden’s emotional eulogy of his brother, Beau Biden, I felt like I knew Beau on a personal level.
My favorite line from the eulogy is, “But, to me, my brother is not defined by his extraordinary resume, he is defined by the quality of his character.” Continue reading
