When we think of New Orleans we think of a party. They have a tradition in New Orleans that you may want to emulate; it’s called a Jazz Funeral and a second line parade. To celebrate their loved ones departure it’s popular to have what’s called a Jazz Funeral and when community members join in it’s called a second line parade or if you are the person joining in you are a “second liner”.
It’s customary to carry a portrait of the deceased in a second line. What a great way to celebrate life!

I’m seeing baby boomers in some way, even a small way, wanting to leave a mark on the people who knew them and perhaps even those who didn’t. Continue reading
A memory chair is a great way to keep a loved one’s spirit alive
I came across this photo of a baseball hat on a chair and thought what a great idea to keep a loved one’s memory alive after a funeral or celebration of life. Wouldn’t it be great to take his or her baseball cap or favorite hat around to all the places where family and mutual friends gather? A sign could also be placed on the chair next to the hat.
