When we think of New Orleans we think of a party. They have a tradition in New Orleans that you may want to emulate; it’s called a Jazz Funeral and a second line parade. To celebrate their loved ones departure it’s popular to have what’s called a Jazz Funeral and when community members join in it’s called a second line parade or if you are the person joining in you are a “second liner”.
It’s customary to carry a portrait of the deceased in a second line. What a great way to celebrate life!

Final word to her mother before scattering her ashes. It’s never easy finding the right words to say at such an emotional time.
This poem or verse was written by Jennifer Levenson, for the spreading of her father’s ashes. Jennifer generously offered it to us in the hopes that others might find it useful. We both hope you will find it helpful when you are looking for what to say as you scatter a loved one’s ashes.
At the End –
Jennifer Levenson 2008

You wanted that we bring you here
In words unambivalent and clear
To spend your afterlife at ease
Scattered near your favourite trees Continue reading
- Memory stones and memory cards provide a great way to personalize a celebration of life.
Memory tables are popular at funerals and celebrations of life. Why not make the memory table more personalized by adding memorial stones and memorial cards? Funeral guests can take the time to stop by the table and contribute their own memories by writing on the stones and cards.

Butterfly Memorial Ring, Consider handing out at a celebration of life
We’ve had such growth in our funeral favors and sympathy gifts line that we’ve extended it to include two new metal pocket rings. The rings come in two styles; the heart rings say on one side “In Loving Memory” and “Always in My Heart” on the other. The second, the butterfly ring says, “What The Caterpillar Perceives As The End ” and the back says “To The Butterfly Is Just The Beginning”.
